About us

Acrobay Gymnastics Trust is a ‘Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation. (SCIO) registered charity number SC045182

Our members are gymnasts or the parents (if the gymnast is a child). We provide the opportunity for our members to participate in our activities, which include recreational classes, training, camps, competitions, squads and other similar gymnastics activities.

We are accredited with Scottish Gymnastics who governs the sport, provides membership benefits for clubs and individual members and offers competitions and events. It is a condition of Scottish Gymnastics club registration that all our club members also register as individual members of Scottish Gymnastics and we adhere to conduct  Scottish Gymnastics policies and codes of conduct

 

Sessions and Payment

Places on gymnastic sessions are subject to availability and can only be booked through ClassForKids. Places will only be confirmed once payment has been received.

Payments can be made online through ClassForKids or using debit or credit cards either at the club reception or over the phone (01383 249951).

If you have difficulties in making payments for your child's sessions please discuss this with a member of staff.

We make every effort to ensure that the details on the website are correct but we reserve the right to make amendments if necessary at any time.

When making a booking, it is your responsibility to ensure that any gymnast is the correct nursery/primary year for that session.

You must inform us of any medical condition, or disability, which may be relevant to the child booked on to a gymnastic session. You must also notify us of any change or deterioration of any such medical condition or disability. Please ensure your records on Class for Kids are up to date and accurate at all times. We will keep this information confidential and handle such issues with discretion. It is our policy to include any such individuals within the scheduled courses wherever possible, but we reserve the right to refuse the booking if we are regrettably unable to accommodate the needs of the individual at Acrobay Gymnastics Trust.

 

Scottish Gymnastics Membership

If you are successful at obtaining a place on a session, payment and registration must be made online direct to Scottish/British Gymnastics. Gymnasts can only participate in a session if Scottish Gymnastics membership/insurance has been paid in full before gymnast’s third session. If you have not paid your membership then your child will not be able to participate in the session.   Once payment is made to Scottish Gymnastics, this is non-refundable

The membership year runs from 1 September to 31 August each year. If you join part way through the membership year, full payment must be made. If you leave part way through the membership year, no refunds will be given.

You will be invited to renew your membership for 1 September each year whereupon members will become liable to pay a membership fee for the new membership year. This must renewed direct with Scottish/British Gymnastics.


Clothing and Footwear

All gymnasts should ensure that appropriate clothing for gymnastics is worn. Cultural differences and the specific needs of disabled people will be respected. No outdoor shoes should be worn within the gym or any of the studios. Bare feet is preferred. No jewellery should be worn and long hair tied up.


Conduct

Acrobay prides itself on providing gymnastics in a positive, safe, fun environment free from bullying, where gymnasts feel valued, protected and not discriminated against.

Gymnasts/Parents and Carers should:-

·          Be friendly and supportive to everyone and offer help if needed

·          Behave with respect to others including coaches, venue staff, officials, other gymnasts, parents and spectators.

·          Adhere to all club’s Codes of Conduct and policies Acrobay Safesport

·          Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all participants regardless of age, sex, gender identity, disability, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, religion, race, ethnic origin, nationality, political beliefs, socio-economic status or sexual orientation.

·          Always strive to show the best of myself and refrain from inappropriate conduct towards others and the club including physical, verbal, written or emotional, in person or through use of social media

·          Refrain from bullying and getting involved in inappropriate peer pressure and push others into something they do not want to do

·          Wear suitable kit. We would recommend gymnasts arrive ready to take part in class

·          Keep finger and toe nails to a safe length

·          Report inappropriate behaviour or risky situations to a member of staff

·          Arrive at training sessions on time and ready to participate fully.

·          Understand that chewing gum and wearing any jewellery whist in a sessions is not allowed.

·          Never post offensive or hurtful comments or comments on social media that could be seen as disrespectful or upsetting. This includes making negative comments relating to Acrobay staff, officials, volunteers, coaches, gymnasts, and support staff.

·          Inform a coach of any injuries and follow the advise of the coaches and/or health professionals

·          Collect your child promptly at the end of the session or call the club or let the coach know if you will be late

 

Evacuation

Users should familiarise themselves with the evacuation procedures of the venue. In the event of any emergency situation arising advice and directions from Acrobay staff should be strictly adhered to.

Electrical Equipment

Portable electrical equipment may only be used in the facility if it has been PAT tested.

Security

The reception and break area doors should remain locked at all times, with only staff allowing access to customers.

Acrobay does not accept responsibility for the loss of personal belongings, etc.

Photography

The use of camera, video and other equipment with the capacity to photograph is not permitted without prior arrangement with Acrobay staff.
